SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISING WALK – LONDON
Please join the English College Foundation in an event to raise funds for scholarships for talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds, to enable them to study in the International Baccalaureate years at the English College in Prague.
We hope you and your friends will join us on a walk in central London featuring stops at places with a past or present Czech connection. The date is Saturday, 3 October 2026, rain or shine. Participants are free to choose how far they want to walk – below we give an approximate idea of the distances between points of interest (maximum 5.5 miles). The main point is to raise funds for bursaries by sponsorship – while improving our health and learning some history!
See below for information about the places we will visit (including Bohemia House). Feel free to drop off anywhere along the way if you have walked far enough. We will never be far from public transport.
We suggest that participants, and non-participating supporters of the project, identify friends and contacts with an interest in the Czech Republic, and share with them the attached information with a request for sponsorship of, say, £2 per mile walked, or any other amount they feel able to donate. We ask all participants to contribute a participation fee of £5-10. If you feel shy about asking for sponsorship, why not just make a generous donation? If you can’t make it please think about a donation via this website (see Donate button at top of page).
Please let us know by 27 September if you plan to join us, and do bring friends – just tell us who will be coming, and whether you will come to Bohemia House afterwards for some refreshments!

We hope to see you on Saturday, 3 October! Meet at 10am at the street level memorial to the Kindertransport in front of Liverpool Street mainline station (as in photo above).
