Since 1992, the mission of
the English College Foundation
has been to support the English
College in Prague (ECP) in their
efforts to provide high quality
English-medium education
to young people in Prague.

As a registered charity, we provide guidance, raise funds for bursaries and resources for ECP students and help maintain a network of ECP alumni and friends to continue building the school’s profile in the UK, Czech Republic and beyond.

About the English College in Prague

The English College in Prague – Anglické gymnázium o.p.s. is a selective six-year English grammar school, which is also part of the Czech school system. It first opened its doors to students in 1994, with President Václav Havel and Charles, Prince of Wales, as its joint Founder Patrons, and continues to exist to provide an English-medium education for young people in Prague, primarily of Czech origin, which is second to none academically but also develops every individual’s potential to the full and prepares them for the practical, social, intellectual and moral challenges that they will face in today’s globalised society.

The College is a public benefit company, established by the English College Foundation, and supervised by an independent body of unpaid Governors who give their time voluntarily. The current Headmaster is Dr. Nigel Brown (pictured right).
